A FACSIMILE or FAX is a way to send information directly from one location to another. Faxes are used by many businesses in order to speed up processes requiring a “copy” of something or signatures. Faxes are much faster than the mail. Faxes are sent over telephone lines.
Today many people have facsimile or fax machines right next to their computers. Of course now there are printers that can do it all, including send a fax!
